Standards change often and sometimes at a rate that seems to be faster than normal. The rate at which technology changes is often very unpredictable. It seems absurd to pretend that anyone can foresee the next great revolution in any such medium. People have grown accustomed to a better quality of picture, and this has benefited humanity. Very recently, the revolution continued when the free channels switched to using a digital, hi definition signal for all homes.
It is not a secret, and it has actually been mandated by most governments, but the free broadcasting signals are now not only on a new digital signal, but this signal is in high definition picture, which represents the latest and greatest change in technology for home viewers. This is something that is available for anyone willing to purchase the proper antenna.
Most governments mandate that some news be delivered for free to citizens with a TV. The fact that these stations must now be transmitted via a clear and crisp digital signal is impressive and great for all humans. It is no wonder why so many people make use of an HDTV antenna to receive many brilliant channels in the best possible quality that has been invented to this date.
